Singer Wahu Kagwi popular for Sweet Love hit among others has jumped ship and is now in the gospel world.

She affirmed this on Sunday at Crossover, NTV during an interview.

Last week, she released her first gospel song, Sifa.

She said she is a born-again Christian and has been saved for one year now.

Wahu is married to musician David Mathenge alias Nameless known for Sinzia, Juju, Butterfly hits.

In detail, she said the salvation journey got her thinking seriously four years ago and just last year, she made a final decision which was to follow the course of Christ.

“Last year, now it’s about one year, is when I went through some of my own issues and then it’s like that catapulted me to go down on my knees and to begin my search for God. I made a resolution then to say my faith is coming first,” she revealed.

She said her new found faith has also hit her family and her daughter told neighbours that “gospel imeshika kwetu” (gospel is the new thing in our home).

Wahu further said at this point, she pays no attention to what people may say or think about her.

“What people think is not as important as what God thinks coz at the end of this journey when we stand before God it won’t be mafans wangu, ama mathangu, ama boss wangu (my fans, my mother or my boss) it will be wewe (you) what did you do..”
