In what is now turning to be a game of musical chairs, opposition leader Raila Odinga now claims he was never interested in a coalition government.

Addressing a charged crow at Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa on Sunday, the NASA boss said his then trusted lieutenant-Deputy President William Ruto pushed him to take up the Prime Minister’s position.

Raila was the PM following 2007/2008 disputed polls. Mwai Kibaki was the then President.

He said during mediation talks led by Koffi Anan, Ruto proposed the power sharing deal.

“Ruto is so forgetful. He, alongside [Musalia] Mudavadi, [Sam] Ongeri, [Martha] Karua, [Moses] Wetang’ula and Mutula Kilonzo, were the ones who sat in the talks. Raila Odinga was not present. How it turns that I wanted a coalition government is surprising,” lamented Raila according to the Star.

Jubilee brigade led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the DP has accused Raila of scheming to bring back the “nusu mkate” arrangement.

Uhuru has particularly accused Raila of creating a political crisis in the country working with foreign entities to as part of his plan to bring back a coalition government.

But Raila insisted NASA does not want any power sharing deal.

“We are not interested in a nusu mkate (half loaf of bread)…forget about it…we are the owners of the full bread,” he said.

Raila further hit out at the DP describing him as greedy.

He said after the mediation talks, he clamored for the Agriculture ministry which had many parastatals.

Raila insisted that anti-IEBC demos will continue daily starting Monday [Monday].

He said IEBC did not heed to its demand to open the servers so as to ascertain who won the polls. Thus, he said, IEBC will have to bear with the consequences.

“We wanted the servers opened but they refused. If the servers would have been opened we would have known the winner of the election and we would not be in the current state. Since they defied the order, they have to meet our demands.”

Raila defended his trip to t UK citing that foreign ambassador to Kenya are spreading falsehoods about NASA.

He said the trip was to set the record straight.

“We went to UK to say the truth. The ambassadors have been spreading lies,” stated Raila.
