A billionaire form Coast claims he is on his way to claiming sh1 million bet from Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka.
Jubilee’s point man in Coast Suleihman Shabal says that in 2013 when he was in Wiper Party, he placed a bet against Kalonzo being named Presidential flag bearer once he teamed up with Raila Odinga.
He has since won following Thursday’s announcement at Uhuru Park where NASA coalition that Raila will be the Presidential Candidate while Kalonzo deputizes him as the Vice President.
Shabal said Kaonzo brushed off his insight stating that such would not happen since Wiper had signed a Memorandum of Understanding that should they win, Raila would serve for only one term.
But today, the MoU has been cast to the wind with Raila, once again, taking the top position in the party.
Shabal, Jubilee’s candidate in Mombasa County said he will call Kalonzo to demand the money.
Failure to name Kalonzo as the flag bearer has stirred waters in Ukambani. A section of leaders led by Minority leader in Parliament Francis Nyenze have expressed discontentment with the arrangement terming it as a raw deal.
In the recent past, Ukambani leaders who have been fronting Kalonzo to be NASA’s presidential candidate argued that they are tired of playing second fiddle all the time.
But Kalonzo seems content with the deal. He has not said anything since the announcement on Thursday. Only his lieutenants in Wiper have been talking
