Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria has petitioned security agencies to arrest Embakasi East MP Babu Owino over alleged hate remarks he made on Sunday against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a facebook post on Monday, Kuria wrote: “Ndegwa Muhoro [DCI], Joseph Boinnet [IG], Francis Ole Kaparo [NCIC], Keriako Tobiko [DPP]; I still hold you in high regard. The cell number four at Pangani which has hosted me frequently is waiting for Babu Owino.”

He added: “I trust this will be done today to save me unnecessary time, effort and resources tomorrow.”

During a NASA rally in parts of Dagoretti North on Sunday, Babu is alleged to have referred to Uhuru as “mtoto wa mbwa” (a puppy).

The statement has irked many Kenyans who have called for his arrest.

Facebook user Denn Ali Dennis called for Babu’s arrest.

“That brainless teenager aka Babu Owino called President Uhuru mtoto wa umbwa?…Moses Kuria please ensure this idiot amelala ndani leo,” he wrote.

“I feel disturbed by Babu’s utterances, why could he possibly call a sitting President son of a dog, what problems does he have with the late Kenyatta and Mama Ngina?” wrote Sam Sam.

Kim Stanley Alex posted “Babu Owino has crossed the line. It’s time he gets a thorough lesson that will forever remain in his mind. That loose mouth of his should be tamed. He can’t abuse his fathers and just walk away like that. He should be taught a lesson.”

But Babu in his response to his arrest calls by Kenyans defended himself saying he did not mention any name and will not apologize.

He wrote on his facebook page that: “I will not apologize to anyone because I called nobody’s name during my yesterday’s address…. in law calling someone a mtoto wa umbwa (a puppy) is not an abuse.”

He added “We have so many Presidents in Kenya, from the President of Sonu to all presidents of student union in Kenya, President of the Supreme Court, President of youth senate and many more. However, I will stick to objective politics and will never abuse anybody.”

“Let my brothers and sisters for the Kikuyu nation know that I did not abuse their President. One Kenya one nation,” concluded the post.
