19 more succumb to COVID-19, cases at 31,015

Kenya on Wednesday recorded 379 more COVID-19 positive cases bringing the total to 31,015.

Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi announced that 3, 867 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Of the 379 cases tested, 223 were male and 156 were female. The youngest case is 1-year-old and the oldest is aged 87.

Further, some 244 patients were been discharged from hospital bringing the total number of recovered cases to 17, 612.

Of the 244 patients who were discharged, 168 patients were from the home-based programme, while 76 were discharged from various health facilities.

However, 19 more patients succumbed to the virus, raising fatalities to 506. Among the fatalities was a 28-year-old who had been battling diabetes.
