Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been admitted at the Karen Hospital for 27 days after contracting coronavirus.

Kuria, a firebrand politician in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp has been missing in action raising questions on his whereabouts.

However, not many knew until he went public in a Facebook post on Wednesday where he urged Kenyans to treat COVID-19 pandemic with seriousness.

“I really hope that beyond all the debate around Covid-19, all and sundry will not forget that Corona Virus is real. The worst thing we can do is to lower our guard!” part of his post read.

He showered praises on frontline healthcare workers saying that they have made a big sacrifice to attend to patients ailing from the virus.

“…let us remember our gallant front line workers – Not just doctors and nurses like but subordinate staff who put their lives in the line of danger to give care to coronavirus patients. If you are in a hospital bed – Like myself for the last 27 days here at Karen Hospital you witness firsthand the amount of sacrifice they make amid vert (sic) difficult circumstances.

“You learn to focus more on the virus and our front line workers, and less on side shows. We shall overcome COVID-19,” he stated.

Kuria joins a list of high profile Kenyans who have contracted the virus and gone public about their status.

Celebrated journalist Jeff Koinange of Citizen TV together with Stephen Letoo, a reporter at the Royal Media-owned station are among those who have gallantly fought the virus and recovered.
