Edna Kiplagat of Kenya won the 2017 Boston Marathon crossing the finish line with a brisk wind at her back to take home the highly competitive title.

Kiplagat, who pulled away from the rest early in the race, was comfortably leading. At the time Kiplagat was clocking two hours, she was looking back to see whether she could see anybody behind her, but she was alone on the track.
Edna Kiplagat is the 2011 and 2013 IAAF World Champion in the marathon. She established herself as an elite marathon runner with wins at the Los Angeles and New York City Marathons in 2010
She finished the race at 2:21:52.
