Lowell City Council Election, Lowell High School Referendum Results

The non-binding referendum on whether to relocate and build a new Lowell High School at Cawley Stadium or to renovate the existing facility concluded Monday evening. The majority of voters supported the renovation of the existing facility.

The majority, 7,254 approved the question against 4,629 voters who wanted the school relocated.

Vesna Nuon came in first in the City Council elections garnering 6,471 votes. Mayor Edward Kennedy followed closely with 6,432 votes, John Leahy with 6,114 votes, William Samaras with 6,094 votes; Rita Mercier with 5,702 votes, Jim Milinazzo with 5,678 votes, Rodney Elliott with 5,447 votes and Karen Cirillo with 4,973 votes respectively.
