Agency seeking governors in contact with positive cases at State House

Ninety-one people have been discharged after recovering from coronavirus, Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman announced on Friday.

Total recovers are now 1,550.

Dr Aman also announced that the country recorded 117 cases in the last 24 hours raising the caseload load to 4, 374 cases.

112 of the new patients are Kenyans while seven are foreigners. 83 are male and 54 are female. They are aged between 11 and 75 years.

Two more people lost their lives bringing the total deaths to 119.

In Friday’s cases, Nairobi had the highest number with 51 followed by Mombasa with 22 and Kajiado 18.

Dr Aman also called for discipline among youths in Nairobi’s posh suburbs of Kileleshwa, Lavington and Westlands saying there are several cases of house parties being reported.

He warned that such behaviour could spread the virus fast.

Still, on matters coronavirus, the National Multi-Agency Command Centre for Covid-19 is contact tracing 66 people, among them governors who had contact with people who tested positive for coronavirus in State House.

The governors had attended the Council of Governors’ summit State House and were in contact with 16 people from State House who are currently being treated for coronavirus.
