No coronavirus death reported in last 24 hours as 241 test positive

Kenya on Friday recorded 241 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number if coronavirus cases to 33,630.

Health CAS Rashid Aman announced on Friday at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kemri).

Gladly, there was no death reported in the last 24 hours. Fatalities remain at 567.

Dr Aman said that 4,520 samples were tested in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative tests to 442,713. 

Out of the 241 cases confirmed in the last 24 hours 47 were foreigners.

The youngest victim was a one-year-old infant while the oldest was 86 years.

Nairobi still recorded the highest number of cases with 113.

Some 66 patients recovered fully in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 19,434.

A total of 40 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 26 were discharged from various health facilities.
