President Uhuru Kenyatta led Jubilee Party has dismissed constant reference to the bungled August 8 polls by the opposition stating that it is now irrelevant.

On Friday, the party through its official twitter handle mocked NASA for double speak.

The Party said it is hypocritical of the opposition to now draw reference and premise their oath plan for Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka based on the results of the polls which they petitioned in court and was nullified.

“They went to court to have the election nullified; they celebrated with song and dance when the election was nullified.

“Now, in a strange turn, they want to swear themselves in based on the results of that same election #NullifiedAndIrrelevant,” read the tweet.

After the polls, NASA lieutenants led by James Orengo dismissed the polls as a “charade” and “sham”.

Raila is set to be sworn in as “Kenya’s President” on January 30. The coalition states that the results of the August 8 polls clearly show Raila won the elections.

Thus, they will swear him in on this premise.

Raila is on record stating that they have had access to IEBC servers and it is evident he was ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We will be sworn in with the August 8 results that shows we won,” said Raila in an interview with the Voice of America a week ago in Nairobi.

IEBC declared President Uhuru as the winner with 8,203,290 votes against Raila’s 6,762,22 votes.

However, the opposition chief says he won by over 1.4 million votes.

Kenyans on twitter weighed in on the issue, some supporting Jubilee’s standpoint on the matter but called for dialogue to unlock the impasse between Jubilee and NASA.

“Kenyans want a peaceful environment in which they can fend for themselves. Kenyans are tired of ruling class games,” Charlo Bazenga said.

“This is time for national healing and it would be prudent if the JP engages NASA in constructive dialogue on how to heal the rifts. But JP is right on the double speak by the opposition,” said one Nj Kamau.

He added: “How do you now turnaround and tell Kenyans you will be sworn in using the results of what you earlier termed as a charade and sham elections? It beats logic.”

Some though, hit out at the ruling coalition for taking over power illegitimately.

“Baba is the rightful leader for the throne. Computer generated leaders should know this,” Ochawo Terry said.
