Bishop Margaret Wanjiru denies dishing out cash to voters after being caught on video

By Jamhuri News Reporter

After being caught on video dishing out money to the public, Gubernatorial aspirant Margaret Wanjiru has come out denying the allegations.

Wanjiru said she has been in politics long enough to understand the dos and don’ts of a campaign.

“That is the work of my detractors. I have been in politics long enough to know that giving money to supporters is a crime,” Wanjiru said.

In the video that has been widely shared on social media, Wanjiru is seen holding a stack of cash that she then starts to dish out to people crowding around her car. Some are heard saying they can’t scramble  over the Sh50.

Wanjiru is in the race hoping to unseat the current Nairobi governor Evans Kidero. She is competing with Mike Sonko and Peter Kenneth.
