Celebrated DJ Kalonje’s home demolished, studio equipment looted

Celebrated Kenyan figure in the entertainment industry, DJ Kalonje is yet to come to terms with the flattening of his father’s home which houses part of his studio.

Dj Kalonje, real name George Waweru is the CEO of entertainment company-Mix Masters Entertainment.

According to Nairobi News, unknown people invaded the piece of property and looted stuff at the studio.

Effort by his father to stop this hit a brick wall as the men armed with crude weapons manhandled him before bringing down the whole structure to the ground through a bulldozer.

He later shared a photo of the rubble on his Instagram page

He said: “Well..this is what has remained of the studio. Without notice we were asked to remove our property under extremely harassing and threatening circumstances. Accompanied by goons armed with pangas and heavy wrenches…shoving my dad severally destroying our property and looting my machines,” he wrote.

He lost DJ Decks, Play Stations and stock.

Dj Kalonje has put Kenya’s name on the map. He has performed gigs in the US, Australia, Middle East and East Africa.

When he started deejaying, his music mixes fast got to the city’s matatu industry which catapulted him to stardom.
