Two Jubilee legislators have bluntly voiced their support for the removal of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as Senate’s Minority Leader.

Nominated Senator on a Jubilee ticket Isaac Mwaura and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria said Wetangula is paying it all.

Mwaura termed Wetangula as a leader who demeans his colleagues in the Senate.

“Moses Wetangula, the only Senator on Ford Kenya ticket. The vulgar and insolent indeed unscrupulous demagogue, known to demean people has been shown the door,” he wrote in his Facebook page.

Mwaura said that with his ouster, he should learn to respect people.

“Finally, you should learn to respect people. Wish you well as you become the true minority leader for nowhere.”

In a different post by Kuria, he said Wetangula was paying for his insolence.

Kuria said in the run up to August 8 elections, a group of rogue youths from Bungoma County attacked him with stones and ehen he complained to Wetangula who is the county’s Senator, he mockingly said he sent them to shown him his way back home.

“In the run up to the August 8 general elections, I survived a hailstorm of stones when I went campaigning in Chwele, Bungoma County. When I later complained to Moses Wetangula about this treatment by his goons, he laughed it off and told me “Nilituma vijana wangu wakuonyeshe njia ya kurudi kwenu nyumbani (I sent my boys to show you the way back home),” Kuria remarked.

But with his unceremonious ouster, Kuria added: “Today, I volunteer to peacefully show Weta the way out of the office of the Senate Minority leader. Baba is doing this like a bawse! He has been misused for so long. Loyalty is paid back in installments but betrayal is punished instantly.”

Yesterday, 19 NASA affiliated Senators during a Parliamentary Group meeting elected Siaya Senator James Orengo as the new Minority Leader.

His election was ratified by Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka.
