A cop attached to Kiambu Police Station who has been renting his gun to criminals has turned himself in.

The officer turned himself in on Thursday afternoon at the Special Crimes Prevention Unit (SCPU). He was flanked by his lawyer.

He was later whisked away to the Nairobi DCI officers for questioning.

The officer of senior sergeant went into hiding since last Friday after two thugs were gunned down by police in Industrial Area. Two pistols were recovered, one of which belonged to the officer.

An earlier raid into the officer’s house within Kiambu Police Station revealed he could have been abetting crime as firearms previously reported stolen were found there.

Kiambu County Police Commander Adiel Nyange led the raid into the officer’s home.

Police Spokesperson Charles Owino has maintained that any officer found engaging in criminal activities will face full wrath of the law.

“We cannot entertain any criminals in the name of police officers. Any officers giving guns to criminals know very well what will happen to them,” said Owino.
