Airports Council International (ACI) has feted Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Moi International Airport (MIA).

The two Kenyan airports were on Monday recognized for their immaculate customer service. Each of them was feted with the Best Airport by Size and Region award.

For JKIA, the Best Airport by Size and Region award 2020 was awarded in its capacity of 2-5 million passengers annually in the African continent.

Moi clinched the Best Airport by Size and Region award 2020 on its capacity of 2 million passengers every years in Africa as presented by ACI’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey.

ACI World Director General, Luis Felipe de Oliveira lauded the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) for striving to give the best customer experience in the industry.

World all over, ASQ is the scale that measures airport customer experience and benchmarking from 300 airports in the world.

Passengers are interviewed via a survey on their overall customer experience while flying with specific airlines.

“I congratulate KAA on the success in the Airport Service Quality Awards which represent the highest possible accolade for airport operators around the world on customer experience. During this most difficult and challenging of years, customers have spoken and recognized the successful efforts of the team at KAA in providing a superior customer experience under trying circumstances,” Felipe de Oliveira stated.

KAA’s interim Managing Director Alex Gitari told Citizen Digital that the award is testament that Kenya is committed to giving the best of customer experience.

“Winning these awards is a reaffirmation of our commitment to providing our customers with a stress-free travel experience. We are truly excited and encouraged by these prestigious awards which herald a new horizon in our customer satisfaction journey across our airports,” he said.

The award comes as JKIA undertakes major rehabilitation of Terminal 1B and Terminal 1C.
