Kenya’s mystery man who witnessed two horrifying accidents that have claimed lives has finally spoken.

Dennis Muigai is his name. He is the man who hit social media circles on Tuesday hours after the death of Nyeri Governor Dr Wahome Gakuru.

Muigai witnessed the horrifying accident near Kenol along Thika- Muranga highway that claimed the governor’s life.

Again, in pictures and a video doing rounds in social media, he appears to be the same person who witnessed the ill-fated chopper crash into Lake Nakuru on October 21.

He has however, denied that he witnessed the Lake Nakuru Chopper crash that claimed five lives, three of which are yet to be found.

In the Lake Nakuru crash, he introduced himself as “state Pilot” further stating that those who succumbed to the accident were his friends.

“[The late pilot Apollo Malowa] was a friend of ours, who we loved, and that’s why I’m here,” he said in one of the clips.

He had dark glasses; bluetooth enabled at the time and had the same on Tuesday when he recounted the events of the governor’s accident.

But in interview with Citizen Digital, he introduced himself as a businessman, his area of specialty being importation of goods.

There was speculation he could be a state operative given his dark, bluetooth enabled glasses commonly seen in officers guarding VIPs in the country.

He denied being a witness in the Lake Nakuru Chopper crash even though there was a correspondence in the name he gave then and his real identity now as discovered.

“I was not the witness in the Lake Nakuru Chopper crash..in our family, there are several people called Dennis Muigai Ngengi, maybe we are related,” he said.

He recounted that in Tuesday’s accident, he was trailing behind the Governor’s Mercendez Benz and all of a sudden, the driver swerved off trying not to hit a motorcycle carrying a meat box.

It is at this juncture, he explained that he rammed onto the rail.

“The accident occurred after the governor’s driver was confused by a motorbike rider who was carrying those meat boxes.

So, while avoiding to hit the rider, the governor’s driver swerved off the road, and that’s when they rammed into the rail. My car then moved to the other side of the road and it wasn’t until we were a little further ahead that we noticed the tyres fly off the car,” he averred.

He was on his way from Kibingoti to his home in Hurlingham, Nairobi at the time of the accident.
