Economist and NASA strategist Dr. David Ndii has said he can never work for President Uhuru Kenyatta or Jubilee Party because he is not at the same level with them in all spheres.

Ndii said he has no respect for the ruling coalition and there is no way he would work with people whom he has to pretend and call “sir” when he actually does not respect them.

In an interview with KTN News on Monday, Ndii said his course is completely different from the one Jubilee administration led by Uhuru charts.

“I don’t think he is qualified to chart the course on how I can contribute to my country. Uhuru is not my peer professionally, intellectually… anywhere,” he said.

He added: “You would have to work with them every day… I don’t respect them. I think (it would) be dishonest. I would have to pretend and call them ‘sir’, which I wouldn’t mean. And I am a principled person.”

Ndii has developed bad blood with Jubilee administration since it came to power for a second term.

About three weeks ago, he was arrested in Diani and shuttled to DCI headquarters overnight. He later appeared at Milimani Law Court but was never charged.

He was released on Sh10, 000 police bond. He termed his arrest as intimidation to opposition supporters.

Speaking on the secession debate which he ignited a few days after the bungled August 8 polls, Ndii said the thinking behind it was driven by “intellect”.

“The issue of secession was simply an intellectual thought. It will be implemented if the people have the will. The journey started with Coast leaders having their inaugural sitting last Sunday and raising their needs as a region. They want to start negotiations on secession in January.”

He added that his criticism for Jubilee administration has been received in a bad way and people forget that for 25 years, he has been vocal about the rights of Kenyan people.

Inspired by this, he stated that he championed the boycott of October 26 repeat presidential poll by Raila Odinga.

“Why would anyone go for a pre-determined election outcome? I was a strong proponent and it seems Jubilee [leaders were] disappointed that they did not get the chance to give validity to the poll…probably giving Raila 40 per cent and taking 60 per cent.”

Raila withdrew from the race citing lack of faith in the IEBC to deliver credible polls. However, the polls continued as scheduled and Uhuru once again, emerged victorious garnering over 7.4 million votes.

The opposition chief insists he will be sworn in as President soon, sentiments further amplified by Ndii.

“The swearing-in of Raila will happen….,” he went on.
