New poll shows Uhuru extending the lead ahead of Raila

President Uhuru Kenyatta is in the lead and if elections were held today, 48 per cent of Kenyans would vote for him while 39 per cent of Kenyans would vote for Raila Odinga.

This is according to a poll survey conducted by Radio Africa group and released on Tuesday. The poll was conducted in 28 counties sampled from the former eight provinces in the country.

It was conducted between May 3-14, with 3,430 respondents over 18 years old in the counties.

It has a 1.7 percent margin of error with a 95 percent confidence level.

However, the number of undecided voters stands at 12 per cent compared to 10 per cent in another poll conducted by the same firm last month.

In this poll, 59 per cent of the respondents in Jubilee strongholds said that they would vote for Uhuru based on his development agenda while only 15 percent said they would vote for Raila based on his development agenda

In NASA strongholds, 42 per cent of the respondents would vote for Raila due to his agenda to development agenda while 21 percent would vote for Uhuru based on his development agenda.

In particular, Raila scored more on the creation of employment, fighting tribalism and dealing with insecurity at 10.5 per cent, 3.3 per cent and 2.1 percent, respectively.

This poll comes barely a day after Jubilee launched its manifesto and promised to transform Kenya in the next five years should they be elected.

NASA is expected to launch its manifesto today.
