An uprising against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government is set to begin early December.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga pushed the commencement of the rebellion against Uhuru to next month to allow candidates sit for their final examinations.

The rebellion to be marked by what he has termed as “One-Million-Man march” will be preceded by the inauguration of the People’s Assembly.

People’s Assembly is another wing of the opposition seeking to transform to a resistance movement. It comprises elected leaders, civil society groups/personalities, women and youths.

NASA MPs have been asked by the opposition chief to ferry about 3, 000 supporters from their constituencies for the march.

In a meeting with NASA MPs on Tuesday, he explained that he needs numbers for the People’s Assembly march to gain momentum in resisting Jubilee’s rule.

“We have endured these injustices for too long. I know the next steps we are taking will be painful and taxing, but I want you to make sacrifices,” he told his MPs during the meeting as reported by the Star.

“We must be prepared to be on the right side of history. It is important, because history will judge us harshly if we let down our future generations,” he added.

With the People’s Assembly, Raila will push for fresh elections within 90 days in his quest to gift Kenya a “legitimate” President.

In the pipeline, is a technical team constituted by Raila to look into systemic issues affecting the electoral body and governance sector.

This, he said will end political crisis that the country is currently reeling on.

“We anticipate task force recommendations will include constitutional amendments to be presented to the People’s Assembly for adoption, and thereafter to county assemblies for ratification, exuded Raila.
