Husband to former Nairobi County women representative Rachel Shebesh has been hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself on the leg Tuesday during a safety precaution routine.
Frank Ambundo Shebesh, a licensed gun holder shot himself on the thigh of his left above the knee according to the Standard.
The incident happened at their Kilimani home in Nairobi.
He has since been admitted to hospital a city hospital.
Police have however commenced investigations into the claim he shot himself.
Police are have also considered the fact that the victim could have been shot elsewhere and later claimed he shot himself while conducting routine safety measures.
An officer privy to the probe said: “We are looking at all angles and if it is possible for one to shoot himself in such a place while conducting safety precautions of a pistol. Unless a miracle happened or he pulled the trigger while the weapon was in waist.
Police have since taken away the Glock pistol which Shebesh claims he accidentally shot himself with.
Glock pistols are according to another officer have one of the most elaborate safety precautions.
