A Kenyan cleric was hacked to death on Friday in South Sudan’s Capital.
According to Daily Nation, Bishop Joel Mwenda was murdered by assailants while at a Church in Munuki area located in the country’s capital suburb.
He was serving at the Christ Ministry in the area.
They used a machete to commit the crime, initial police investigation reveals.
Police Spokesperson in the country Brigadier Daniel Justin said they have apprehended several suspects in relation to the murder of the Kenyan cleric.
“We went to the place of the incident and some of the suspects have been arrested,” said the Police Spokesperson.
“What we understand is that he was killed using a panga [machete], but we are waiting for a medical report.”
His death comes a few days after South Sudan President Salva Kiir issued a shoot to kill order for all criminal after an increase to break-in crimes in the area.
