Two tourists were found dead and their bodies dumped in a thicket at Kiembeni, Kisauni area in Mombasa County on Sunday morning.

The slain tourists are Werner Borner Paul, 70, and Marriane Hornel and are Swiss nationals. They arrived in the country August 19.

Pedestrians walking along the road discovered the two bodies and notified police.

Area Police boss Christopher Rotich said Investigations have since commenced.

The bodies wrapped in a blanket according to residents may have been brought from elsewhere and dumped in Kiembeni which is a forested area.

Police are yet to establish the cause of the murder.

“Detectives have seized of the matter for fingerprints and traces of their last moves,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Rotich urged all plot owners in the area to develop them as their openness has encouraged dumping of dead bodies there.
