Unknown gunmen on Tuesday evening shot at a car belonging to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu along Ngong road in Hurlingham, Nairobi.
The gunmen opened fire at her official car at around 5pm.
But she was not in it, confirmed reports indicate.
The driver had dropped her at her Karen home and was headed to Kilimani when the incident occurred.
The driver sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to Nairobi Women Hospital for treatment.
Police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
The incident comes barely hours before Mwilu and other Supreme Court judges make a ruling on a petition by three voters who are seeking to have Thursday repeat polls stopped.
