“Raila is holding the country together, still ready for dialogue” Says his adviser

Nasa leader Raila Odinga's adviser Salim Lone

NASA principal Raila Odinga is still ready for dialogue with president Uhuru.

According to the former prime minister’s adviser Salim Lone, Raila has been open for dialogue even after Uhuru was sworn in as the president on November 28.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday about the upcoming inauguration of Raila Odinga as the ”people’s president”, Mr. Lone said that Raila will be sworn-in to prevent ”further polarisation by giving Kenyans hope for electoral justice that was denied them, under a genuinely independent IEBC”.

Mr. Lone also said that since President Uhuru has ignored all calls for dialogue, their only option to bring justice to people is by swearing-in the opposition leader.

Lone said that the inauguration is legal, adding that it will ”give new impetus for the People’s Assembly to guide county assemblies in urgently addressing a number of pressing economic and justice issues that will provide material benefits to our people”

The adviser also said that Raila is holding the country together through his fight for justice and lawful ways of solving problems facing the country.

Raila announced last week that he will be sworn-in on December 12, his inauguration coinciding with one of the most celebrated public holidays in Kenya- Jamhuri day.

Nasa leaders said that they will give an update on the programme of action for the controversial ceremony.
