A forex bureau based in Karen was on Sunday robbed over Sh3.5 million by two gangsters who made entry disguised as nuns.

The money was in different currencies.

Police report indicates that one of the robbers first entered the bureau before the attendant handed him the money in 15 different currencies.

Moments later, the suspect got out of the bureau where he hopped into an already waiting motor bike and they sped off.

Karen Police boss Culingham Suiyanka said they believe the suspect was a woman.

The attendant at the bureau was arrested.

“We have arrested the attendant of the forex because we highly suspect that he may have colluded with them,” the police boss said as quoted by the Nairobian.

In his statement to the police, the attendant said the robber who was donned like a nun first pretended she was changing US dollars to Kenyan shillings before he was sprayed on his face and fell unconscious.

But, CCTV footage at the bureau proves otherwise because it shows him giving the money to the alleged nun without much struggle, an officer said.

The footage further shows the two “nuns” walking into the bureau and the attendant presses a button to let them in.

Here, they walk in and load money into bags before they walk out without any commotion.

The two guards posted at the bureau told police a crime of such intensity would not be suspected because everything at the bureau was calm.
