Police in Igembe South, Meru County have arrested two people among them a 17-year old boy masquerading as police officers.

The 17-year old is a Form Three drop out.

They were arrested on Wednesday donned in full police regalia on their way to execute crime in Athi, Kanthiari and Kinyanka locations.

Gitumi sub-location Assistant Chief Ezekiel Ithalii while confirming the incident told Citizen Digital that the 17-year old suspect had on several occasions been arrested for leashing out terror on residents.

The Assistant Chief added that the suspect disappeared in mysterious circumstances from Maua Police Cells during his last arrest.

Igembe South Administration Police Head James Kosgey said in the initial investigations, the suspects said the AP regalia was given to them by an AP officer by the name Thuranira.

However, Kosgey said they will conduct further probe into the issue because they suspect the two suspects stole the uniforms they were found in.
