Kenya recorded 121 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday pushing the total tally to 3,215.
The Health Ministry in a statement said that it tested a total of 3,291 samples.
Out of the 121 cases, 115 are Kenyans while six are foreigners. The youngest victim is a four-month-old infant who has been diagnosed with the virus.
Nairobi recorded 49 cases, Busia 37 and Mombasa 20 cases.
The statement by CS Mutahi Kagwe added that 44 patients who were undergoing treatment for COVID-19 have been discharged.
The total number of recovered patients is now 1,092.
However, three more deaths were recorded bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 92.
Kagwe said that he is optimistic that the 2020/2021 budget estimates will allocate his ministry adequate funds to handle the virus.
“On National Budget Day, the Ministry looks forward to be allocated funds that will enable it to effectively manage, not only the Coronavirus pandemic, but also other diseases and life-threatening disasters,” said Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
