Jubilee Party has cracked the whip and expelled six nominated senators.

Five of the senators among then Millicent Omanga were expelled for failing to attend a meeting convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta in May 2020.

The meeting which was held at State House ratified a decision to dethrone Kipchumba Murkomen the Senate Majority Leader post and Susan Kihika, the Majority Chief Whip  post.

The other four senator who were expelled include Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Prengel Victor and Iman Falhada Dekow.

Also, Isaac Mwaura who recently appeared before the party’s disciplinary committee was expelled.

Mwaura has lately been associating with Deputy President William Ruto’s camp, United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The party said that he has shown disloyalty.

In a notice on Monday, Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju said that he had notified the Senate Speaker and the Registrar of Political Parties on the new development.

Tuju in his decision said the six senators were in breach of the article 13 of Jubilee Party’s Constitution.

He further remarked that the party has power to expel rebels in accordance with Article 7 (2A ) of the party’s constitution.

The expulsion came hours after DP Ruto hosted 139 MPs and Senators in hus UDA camp. They were at his Karen home.

Ruto’s camp is under sharp focus in Kenyan politics as he leads an opposition camp to reject the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) being championed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and handshake partner Raila Odinga.
