Any Jubilee allied politician who stands in the way of Deputy President William Ruto’s bid for presidency in 2022 will be dealt with, Leader of Majority in Parliament has warned.

Aden Duale, also the Garissa Township MP sounded the warning following heightened attacks on the DP by ousted Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter.

Keter has alleged that his downfall has been engineered by the DP.

However, Duale said Jubilee MPs in Parliament are ready to deal with their colleagues who are rebels and will not spare anyone.

“Ruto is a utility player like Manchester United’s Lukaku [Romelu]. We will not let him be injured before the 2022 poll,” said Duale according to the Star on Saturday in Western Kenya.

“Anybody who tries to stand in front of him will be sorted out by us, the foot soldiers,” he added.

Duale in direct reference to Keter’s accusations against Ruto said that they fixed him in Parliament and at the moment he faces an uphill task in reclaiming his seat in the by-election.

“Keter has been disturbing us. He should prepare his political obituary.”

Keter has had several run-ins with Jubilee’s top administration since he was first elected to Parliament in 2013.

He has on several occasions accused his own party of corruption and intimidation.

On January 4, together with four other Jubilee rebel MPs, Keter was unceremoniously removed as the Labour Committee Chairman.

Weeks later, he was arrested  alongside Athai Ngolo Sagwa and Madat Sagai Chatur at the Central Bank of Kenya for allegedly trying to cash-in fake Treasury Bills worth Sh633 million.

He was later charged in court with 11 counts of forgery and released on Sh2 million cash bail or Sh5 million bond.

After his release, he said he reads politics in the whole issue.

After the Eldoret High Court nullified his election last week, he told his supporters that he had expected such a ruling and it has been influenced by top Jubilee leaders-a statement indirectly referring to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the DP.

He said that though his spirit remains unmoved, he will be on the ballot but not on the Jubilee Party ticket.
