Caro Ngumbu, 21, is the woman murdered alongside IEBC’s ICT Director Chris Msando, reveals Daily Nation.
Ngumbu had just completed her studies at the Kenya Medical Training College, Karen Campus.
She hails from Gachie, Kiambu County.
The young medic was due to graduate in December this year according to her grief-stricken mother Alice Nduruka.
She said her daughter was usually calm and very peaceful.
“When she told me she was going out on Friday, I did not expect I could receive such news,” she remarked plaintively.
“This is not something that could have happened to my daughter because she is a such a good person.”
Ngumbu spoke last to her sister, Jedida Wanjiku on the fateful day at 7pm. She informed her she was going out to have some drinks with the late IEBC ICT Manager.
She promised to get home once after having several drinks.
The sister also disclosed that the two had been friends for months before their fateful death.
But, she realized her sister was missing the following day [Saturday] when her male friends started calling asking of her whereabouts since her phone was off.
She suspected her sister was the one murdered together with Musando on Monday after watching news and found out that Musando had been murdered.
“I immediately knew it was my sister because she had last gone hanging out with Chris but I hadn’t heard from her,” she said.
Wanjiku did not inform her parents when she and some few friends headed to City Mortuary to ascertain if it was her sister in there.
“We did not even inform our parents before going…at the mortuary, I was scared and I let my two friends go inside while I stayed outside. I shortly heard my friend scream and I knew it was her.”
