Coronavirus death toll rises to 137 as cases rise to 5, 533

Nairobi is still leading in the number of new coronavirus cases with a record of 73 confirmed cases on Friday.

Dr Rashid Aman in his brief on Friday stated that in the last 24 hours, Nairobi recorded the highest coronavirus cases out of the 149 that were confirmed.

Incidentally, Kibra had the highest number with 17 cases.

With the 149 tested from 3,090 samples, the total number of coronavirus cases in Kenya is 5,533.

Those who tested positive are aged between one and 76 years.

146 are Kenyans while three are foreigners.

Besides Nairobi that had 73 cases, Mombasa had (20) Kajiado (15) and Siaya (23).

Dr Aman also announced that 48 patients were discharged bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,905.

The death toll also went up to 137 following the death of five more people.
