Dida advises Uhuru to visit a rehab, says Raila is teargas addict

Alliance for Real Change Presidential candidate Abduba Dida has offered a rather drastic and ambiguous advice on President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Dida in a press conference on Monday in Nairobi said that Uhuru needs to undergo rehabilitation for three months before he vies for the Presidency once more.

Noting that his pronouncement should not be seen as disrespect for Uhuru, he said according to the Star “this is not being tribal or lacking respect; but please, if anyone loves Uhuru that much, let them take him to rehab.”

He did not expound why the President should go to rehab.

But in yet another tirade against NASA Chief Raila Odinga, Dida said his resort to street protest to push for reforms at IEBC was ill-advised.

He comically stated that should he become President, he will appoint Raila as the Chair for Human Rights Commission.

Dida also described Raila as a leader who “loves teargas” but urged him to rescind on his decision for street protest to push for IEBC reforms.

“Raila is an old man who has won a lot of respect. I want, however, to tell him to hold his horses. I know he loves and is addicted to teargas but please, if he needs one at this moment, he can teargas himself in his house to spare us trouble,” added Dida.

Dida said Raila should exercise restraint by not allowing his supporters to go to the streets.

He said though NASA has genuine concerns over IEBC’s conduct, those implicated should leave graciously with “half salary” other than wait to be hounded out of office unceremoniously.
