Doctor Dragged Off Plane Files Case Demanding United Airlines to Preserve Evidence

By Jamhuri News Reporter

The United Airlines passenger who was filmed being dragged off the plane by airport police has filed an emergency “bill of discovery” against United.

Dr. David Dao filed the bill in an Illinois State Court demanding that evidence documenting Sunday’s incident be protected and preserved.

In the court documents, Dao demanded that surveillance videos, cockpit voice recordings, passenger and crew lists, incident reports and other items be preserved and protected.

Dao said that a serious prejudice will befall this case is evidence is not protected.

The 69 year old doctor was among the four passengers aboard a Kentucky-bound United Airlines plane that were randomly selected to get out of an overbooked flight, to give room for the crew.

When Dr. Dao refused, United Airlines management sent in Chicago airport police to remove him, an incident that quickly turned violent resulting in officers dragging Dao off the plane, as other passengers videotaped the bloody encounter.

The incident has given United negative publicity that has seen the airline lose up to $250 million of its market value.

Dao’s case is an indication that he possibly plans to press charges against the airline.
