Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has been described as a fierce Jubilee loyalist who deserves to retain his Leader of Majority Seat in Parliament.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator-elect Kipchumba Murkomen maintained Duale’s performance in the 11th Parliament was excellent.

He opined that Duale knows his job and has steered government business as expected, thus, he should retain it.

“Personally I believe that Hon Duale has earned his position. He is not someone who was just hand-picked; he’s a person who has worked his way out from time to this place,” said Murkomen on Citizen TV Thursday.

He said that though Duale has often rubbed some quarters in the wrong way, his capability to keep government agenda rolling in the House is unrivalled.

“Those people who disagree with Duale in the same way we disagree with people who are in NASA but when we sit down we say definitely, it would be very difficult to find someone who can rival what Hon Duale has done for himself and his commitment to the House, his commitment to the country.”

“…it requires someone who has earned trust within the political circle out of commitment…we may disagree on certain instances that he might have told somebody this but in terms of his commitment to leadership of Jubilee, his belief is unwavering,” added the Senator.

Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiangani said Duale is a fierce Jubilee loyalist and is also a “troubleshooter” who puts off ‘enemies of Jubilee’.

“He [Duale] is fiercely loyal, that is one of the things you see. He’s also a troubleshooter.

Duale is upbeat on retaining his Leader of Majority seat.

National Assembly will open on Thursday next week when members will be sworn in and thereafter elect the Speaker and his deputy.
