Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been sworn-in.

He was sworn-in on Saturday at Ndumberi Stadium by Lady Justice Stella Mutuku.

Outgoing Kiambu Governor William Kabogo together with his Deputy Gerald Githinji attended the event.

Kabogo thereafter took to his faceboook page and wished the new Governor well in his new job.

“Today I handed over the instruments of power to the incoming Governor of Kiambu, Ferdinand Waititu. I ask everyone to support him and his new administration in moving Kiambu forward,” said Kabogo.

At the event, he said that time has come for him to hand over power and all duties of the office of the governor the same way he was given four years ago.

“Four years ago, the people of Kiambu gave me and my Deputy power to run county affairs and here today they give it to you,” remarked Kabogo.

He said he believes in the new Governor will move Kiambu forward. However, he asked the county leadership to work together.

“We must work together or perish together like fools.”

Waititu promised to work hard and fulfill promises he made to the people during campaigns.

The Swearing-in ceremony was attended by Gender and Youth Affairs  CS Sicily Kariuki, ICT CS Joe Mucheru County Senator Kimani Wamatangi and all elected leaders from Kiambu County.

Nakuru Governor-elect Lee Kinyanjui and Uhuru’s relative George Muhoho attended the event.
