Foreign envoys in Kenya clarion call to IEBC as Jubilee, NASA engage in tender row

Foreign envoys in Kenya have made a clarion call to IEB to be transparent in its operation in a bid to create a free, fair and credible election in August.

The envoys, 10, representing the U.S and European Union urged IEBC to make a point of communicating its progress in regard to preparation for the polls.

“We urge the IEBC to continue to engage and communicate its preparations widely and transparently,” read a statement from the envoys as Business Daily reports.

The envoys include UK High Commissioner, Robert Godec of the U.S, head of European Union Delegation to Kenya Stefano Dejak, Germany’s Jutta Frasch, Switzerland’s, Ralf Heckner and Johan Borgstam (Sweden).

Other envoys of similar opinion are those from Italy, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

They met IEBC personnel including the Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Ezra Chiloba at Anniversary towers on Thursday.

This follows a ballot tendering storm that has hit the country.

Foreign envoys have pledged to support Kenya in its quest to hold credible polls.

Former U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry will lead the Carter Center’s election observation mission in Kenya during the August 8 polls.

He will lead a team of a team of 50 observers to monitor and track the counting of votes on August 8.
