The number of COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 3,727 after 133 people tested positive in the last 24 hours.
Speaking in Nyandarua County on Monday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 3,365 samples were tested in the last 24 hours bringing to a total of 180,701 tests that have been conducted so far.
A total of 33 more discharges were recorded, raising the recoveries to 1,286. Sadly, the country lost one more patient. The total number of death comes is now 104.
This comes as other reports indicate that some staff at State House are currently admitted in hospital after contracting coronavirus.
Ten other staff are waiting for their results after mass testing conducted last week on Wednesday and Thursday.
State House Spokesperson, Kanze Dena in a statement on Monday said that the four have been admitted at Kenyatta University Referral Hospital.
“During last week’s mass COVID-19 testing held on Thursday, 11th June 2020, four (4) persons were found to have contracted the disease,” she said.
On matters coronavirus, Raila Odinga has also asked Kenyans to undergo COVID-19 test adding that it is important to continue maintaining hand hygiene and social distancing.
“Just received my COVID-19 test results which came back negative. I commend @KEMRI_Kenya and Prof. Matilu Mwau of the Testing Centre, for the professionalism and efficiency displayed. Once again, I appeal to Kenyans to take tests, sanitize and observe social distancing,” he tweeted on Monday.
