Former KTN investigative journalist who turned into a politician, Mohammed Ali, is crying foul alleging he was rigged out of Nyali parliamentary race by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

In a facebook post shortly after the nominations, Ali alleged that he was not allowed to vote nor were his supporter allowed.

“I have been locked out. I can’t vote, my people were not allowed to vote on time,”.

He said all his polling stations were opened between 2-3pm while that of his competitor were up and running from as early as 7am.

“Ali Hassan Joho’s brother was allowed to run away with five polling stations as early as 7am. All my polling stations were opened at around 2-3pm.”

He further accused the Mombasa Governor of extending his plan to rig him out by allowing them to count their votes without Ali and team’s consent.

“The Joho’s have decided to count votes on our behalf without our permission. It’s a family affair,” he said.

Ali noted that the nominations were highly unfair saying, “let Joho announce the brother’s thuggery win tonight at the ASK ground.”

Ali garnered 2987 votes against his competitor’s Abdalla (Saido) 3671 votes.

He has vowed to fight to the end to ensure he clinches the seat on August 8 polls. It is not clear yet if he will vie as an independent candidate or not.
