In a tide of political authority, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s led Jubilee Party has scooped all three county positions and 4 out of five for MP in Kajiado County.

On the top seat is former Interior Cabinet Secretary CS Joseph Ole Lenku who has clinched  Kajiado governorship.

He trounced ODM’s Dr David Nkedianye (ODM) by 174, 694 votes against 146, 652 votes garnered by Nkedianye.

Lenku’s win is a major boost for Jubilee. In 2013, Jubilee candidate Taraiya Ole Kores was barred by the court on the last minute from contesting Kajiado governorship for not having some academic papers.

Kores contested again in 2017 Jubilee primaries but was trounced by Lenku. He shifted allegiance to NASA and became a staunch supporter of Nkedianye’s re-election bid.

Kajiado also made history with electing their first County Women rep with disability.

Janet Teiyaa polled at 186, 085 against ODM’s Esther Somoire who garnered 104, 486 votes.

Jubilee’s Philip Mpayeei put up a grueling battle against ODM’s Daniel Tinaai and emerged the winner. He replaces Peter Mositet, outgoing kajiado Senator.

Out of the five Parliamentary seats, Jubilee scooped four with only one going to ODM.

Kajiado Central represented by Elijah Memusi, an incumbent, went to ODM.

Joseph Manje successfully defended his Kajiado North seat on a Jubilee ticket and like wise for Peris Tobiko (Kajiado East), George Sunkuiya (Kajiado West) and Katoo Ole Metito (Kajiado South).

During Jubilee campaigns, Jubilee was optimistic of clinching Kajiado County and often disputed it would tilt in favour of NASA.
