A Kenyan woman is being held by Seychelles authorities after her arrest over the weekend for being in possession of 200 grammes of Cocaine estimated to have a street value of Sh1 million.

The suspect identified as Marietta Anyango is reported to have boarded a flight to Seychelles at the Jomo Kenyatta International via Ethiopian Airlines and landed in Victoria, Seychelles on Friday.

Seychelles authorities informed Kenyan security officials who have since launched a manhunt for the suspect’s accomplices.

It is believed that the drugs were packed in Nairobi.

“The drugs were packaged in Nairobi meaning the accomplices are here,” an officer privy to the investigations said according to the Standard.

The suspect is among several other Kenyans who have been arrested in the last few months for being in possession of drugs.

In January, a Kenya Airways cabin crew was arrested after being found in possession of narcotics believed to be headed to China.

He was nabbed after a multi-agency team pounced on him on a tip off and inspected his luggage which was heavier than usual.
