Jubilee’s staunch defender and Kikuyu legislator Kimani MP is Kenya’s only MP who will be elected unopposed in the August 8 polls.

This is according to a gazette notice published by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday.

In response to the news, he thanked his constituents and pledged to work harder in bettering Kikuyu constituency.

“All glory and honor to the almighty Lord. I feel blessed of the Lord and honored by you all. To you my people, I will serve you with honor, dedication and renewed vigor, for in serving you faithfully, I serve my God and fulfill his wish and purpose of my life,” read the facebook post on Tuesday.

“God’s blessings to you all,” ended the post.

Through CDF funds, the MP has transformed the education sector within his constituency.

He has also funded scores of students through KICE Foundation which he is the patron.

Kimani is a vocal Jubilee defender and has come to public limelight due to his good oratorical skills in articulating government’s agenda as well as defending it from the opposition.

The first time MP was elected to the 11th Parliament in 2013 on the then President Uhuru Kenyatta led TNA Party.

He has been serving as the Vice-Chairman in the Parliamentary Public Investments Committee.

He also sits in the Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operative; Powers and Privileges Committees respectively.

Besides his frequent appearance in national politics, he is a firebrand politician in his county’s politics.

He has a strained relationship with Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and has severally engaged him in a war of words.

Though he has remained non-committal about it, the 40-year old Economics graduate from University of Nairobi is said to be poised to deputize Ruto in 2022.
