Kisumu ex-convict sells land to campaign for Uhuru for releasing him

An ex-convict from Kisumu County has left Kenyans shocked after selling his two acres of land for sh100, 000 each to campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

50-year old Michael Ochieng Odongo says he owes his life to the President for having him released from prison where he was facing the hang man’s noose after he was sentenced to death.

He has been serving his sentence at Nakuru Prison after he was found guilty of robbery with violence in 2001.

Odongo says he is not doing this to gain any favours from Uhuru; but as a show of thanks for having him released.

“I am not doing this to gain favours from him,” he said.

He targets to raise sh300, 000 for Uhuru’s campaign in the region.

He says his target is 3, 000 votes for Uhuru in Kisumu County where he hails from.

He is the second to come out in support of Uhuru’s campaign.

A few weeks ago, a Meru man in his mid 70’s had vowed to sell his property that is worth over sh10 million and help finance the President’s campaign.
