Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua and the county’s First Lady Lilian Mutua have built a house for one Mzee Muchoki.

Mzee Muchoki has been living in a small one-timber roomed house that had gaping holes, some of which he had concealed with old and rusty tins.

Last month, Mutua visited Mzee Muchoki and was almost moved to tears upon seeing the condition he has been living in.

He promised to build a decent house for him which he did in record time of less than one month.

On Thursday via his official twitter handle, Mutua shared pictures of the newly built house and welcomed other well-wishers to donate furniture ahead of its opening on May 11.

“Last month, Lillian & I promised to build a house for Mzee Muchoki. The house is done. We invite you all to participate by furnishing the house (beds, sofas etc) so that we can hand it over on Friday, May 11,” said the Machakos County boss.

Benji Ndolo, a political analyst lauded Mutua for his efforts and offered to buy curtains for the new house.

“Haters will say why build a house there and there are poor people in Ukambani. People are mad. I will help put nice curtains, Mutai see me. Congrats doc,” he said.

Another political analyst, Gabriel Muthuma praised the governor stating “You must like this dude ! Good Job Gov.”

@Winnie_K said: “Good work Sir! Kindly let everyone know and especially your fellow legislators how much such a house costs? Maybe they can actually start working towards building such housing for we the diligent taxpayers…or at least the less fortunate in our society.”

@DsKipdans noted: “Congrats Mheshimiwa,you’re a role model.”

The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader has announced he will give a shot at the Presidency in 2022.

He says Machakos will be his launching pad to ascend to the highest office and institute real change in the country.
