Mohamed Ali ‘Jicho Pevu’ opens new radio station as he makes media comeback

Nyali MP Mohamed Ali alias Moha Jicho Pevu has bounced back to the media industry.

He is the owner of a new radio station in Mombasa allocated the frequency 88.0 FM.

The Nyali MP who has had a colorful career in the media industry as an investigative reporter recently posted online his hunting bid for a radio presenter and DJ.

He described the yet-to-be named radio station as he newest and coolest station in Mombasa.

“Are you a talented radio presenter or DJ? If yes, then you are the one we have been looking for. Here is a chance for you to work in Mombasa’s newest and coolest radio station,” his post read.

Before venturing into politics in 2017, Ali worked for the Standard Group’s KTN for close to a decade as an investigative reporter.

His “Jicho Pevu” exposes made him popular among Kenyans. Since then, he earned this moniker which he campaigned on in Nyali on an independent ticket.

In a past interview, Moha said that his career solidified in 2007 after airing a expose of police brutality in Mathare where residents were caught up in a war between the outlawed Mungki sect and the police.

Jicho Pevu carried the day and became a popular investigative segment for KTN which he would work for until 2017 when he successfully vied for the Nyali Parliamentary seat.
