Nairobi ranked as most intelligent city in Africa

Nairobi has been named the most intelligent city in the African continent according to Intelligent Community Forum.

The organization highlighted that Nairobi’s intelligence emanates from its strides in building an economy that has flourished in abroad band economy.

“We see a strong foundation being put into place [in Nairobi]: sensible, pro-growth government policy, a more diversified economy, and an innovation ecosystem of startups, international companies and universities,” notes Intelligent Community Forum co-founder Robert Bell.

He adds that: “Nairobi certainly has the opportunity to build an exciting future for its citizens, businesses and institutions.”

Nairobi appeared as the only African City on the Forum’s shortlist of 21 hubs around the world for 2015.

However, Nairobi did not qualify to the next round where seven communities around the world contest for the 2015 Intelligent Community of the Year award in June.

The 2015 Top 7 Intelligent Communities were Arlington County (U.S.), Columbus, (U.S.), Ipswich (Australia), Mitchell (U.S.), New Taipei City (Taiwan), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Surrey (Canada) as further reported by the Standard.
