Njambi Koikai off to US for surgery, appeals for medical aid

Popular TV personality Njambi Koikai has finally travelled to the US for treatment after a long battle with a condition that causes her lungs to collapse regularly.

Njambi, suffers from Thoracic Endometriosis.

In the past few months, she has been appearing on different stations appealing for medical support towards her treatment in the US which costs Sh10 million.

On Thursday when she flew out of the country, she thanked all Kenyans for their support.

“I love you all for supporting this fight. We are just about to score the goal to wellness. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for loving me and may God bless each one of you,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

However, she made an appeal to well-wishers to continue fundraising because she is yet to hit the Sh10 million target required for her treatment.

“We haven’t reached the target yet but God is providing. God has brought us this far.”

Since the news of her illness, artistes have held several concerts in a drive to raise funds towards her treatment.

Her treatment, she explained, involve a major surgery to remove endometrial lesions in her lungs.

“The specialized treatment in the US entails a surgery to remove endometrial lesions in my lungs,” she said adding “I have undergone more than ten surgeries this is happening every month.”

Njambi has made a name for herself in the entertainment world. She is a huge fan of reggae and has more than once brought Jamaican reggae artiste in the country to perform.

Besides that, she was a host on the Trend that airs on NTV every Friday evening.
