Police in Rangwe, Homa Bay County have arrested a 17-year old form four student at Orero Secondary school for being in possession of a gun.

His classmates had intimated that he had a gun in school and police asked teachers to investigate the matter.

“A student leaked information to one of the teachers that the student owned a gun,” principal Dickens Bula said as quoted by the Star.

“We conducted an investigation which involved both teachers and students but it failed,” added Bula.

On Tuesday, he was arrested and upon interrogation, he led police to the school’s fence where he had hidden the pistol.

Rangwe OCPD Esau Ochorokodi led the investigation.

Upon inspecting the gun, he said it was in good condition.

“We have tested the pistol and found that it can be used but it did not have bullets,” he said.

The form four candidate said he got the fun from a cousin who lives in the US.

However, he did not tell the police his motive of being in possession of a gun.

“He has not revealed his motive of possessing the gun but we are still interrogating him,” the OCPD noted.

He will be arraigned in court once police conclude investigations.

Principal Balu said the boy has been scoring between a C plain and a B- (Minus).
