Ruto’s wife, Rachael apologizes to Kenyans for Jubilee’s failures, calls for humility [video]

Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Rachael Ruto has caused an online storm after a video showing her apologizing on behalf of Jubilee regime started doing rounds on Monday.

Speaking in Nanyuki where she was attending a peace rally, she pleaded with Kenyans to forgive the shortcomings of Jubilee regime citing it is not easy for the government to endear all 45 million Kenyans.

“As I stand here as a servant of God and as the Deputy President’s wife, I would like to ask for forgiveness,” Rachael stated.

She added: “There are many things; things to do with food, things to do with drought and some feel that government should have done this and that and at times, we have failed.”

In her address seen to be directed to Kenyans all over, she said Kenyans should forgive Jubilee since they obliged to their 2013 call and voted for Uhuru Kenyatta and her husband Ruto.

“As I stand here in this County of Laikipia, I say please forgive us as Jubilee government if there is any wrong thing we have done, uttered…,” she went on.

However, she pleaded with the residents to find it in their hearts to vote for Jubilee once again in the forthcoming polls.

She pointed out that even in the imperfections of the regime; they have been able to deliver on some things that no government since independence has delivered.

“Things that have never happened in the last 50 years since Kenya got independence have happened in the last five years.”

She also assured Kenyans that Uhuru and his leadership have Kenya’s interests at heart.

She urged them to support Uhuru’s re-election.

“The President loves you. The first lady loves you. If you don’t hold his hand and lift him up so that he wins this battle, this battle will be tough,” said Rachael.
