Alliance High School in Kikuyu, Kiambu County is yet again on the spot following the death of a Form Three student last week on Friday.

The student, Harun Kipngeno Kemboi, is said to have died from Tuberculosis (TB) complications.

Kemboi’s family said their son was taken to a local hospital on Monday after he developed breathing complications.

He was admitted and tests done on Wednesday.

However, they were informed on Friday that he was critically unwell. About 15 minutes later, they got another phone call and that he had succumbed to the illness and passed on.

The Ministry of Education has sent a team to investigate the matter.

Kiambu County Director of Education told Nairobi News that an independent investigating team from his office will probe the matter.

The school’s administration declined to address the media over the issue.

Last year, the school which is among Kenya’s best national schools hit the headlines with reports of bullying.

The school’s board forced the then Principal, David Kariuki to resign over the allegations and William Mwangi was brought in as the new principal.
